What are the guidelines for taking academic assistance leave?

    Employees may take one course per semester that is related to their current position, not to exceed 5 semester hours.  If the class is not available during non-working hours, the supervisor may grant time off to attend the course.  The course must grant academic credit.

What are the guidelines for tuition reimbursement?

    Staff may receive reimbursement for tuition up to $125 per semester for courses related to their current position.  Books and fees are not included.

 

How can I apply for academic assistance for academic courses?

    In order to receive leave or reimbursement, you must complete a form before you begin the course. This form must be approved by your supervisor.  You can find the form for academic courses in the forms section, entitled Academic Assistance: Academic Courses.

 

How can I receive leave or reimbursement for a workshop?

    If you are required to attend a workshop to continue your licensure, registration, or certification, you may be reimbursed for a registration fee of up to $75. The workshop must provide continuing education credit (CEU).

    If you are not required to attend a workshop or if the workshop does not grant CEUs, reimbursement must be requested from travel money through the Business Office.
