Who needs a van license?

Anybody who transports residents in a minivan (7 passenger) or a 12-15 passenger van must have a JIRDC van license.

How do I get a van license?

You should register for a van class by contacting David Wise in Human Resources.  After completing the training class and passing the road test, you will be a certified van driver.

Who needs a bus (CDL) license?

Anybody driving a JIRDC bus with a capacity of 16 or more passengers or a vehicle in excess of 26,001 pounds needs a bus license.

How do I get a bus license?

You must complete a written test at the NC Driver's License station.  This will be followed by a road test, pre-trip inspection, and basic control test.  For more information, call David Wise.
