The Resource Center staff at J. Iverson Riddle provide habilitative programming to children and adults in a variety of settings. Teaching personnel assigned to Dogwood, Redwood and Rosewood Resource Centers implement individually designed skill acquisition programs across five instructional domains: self-care/home living skills, leisure, social/communication, vocational and community transition. Instructional sites include classrooms and natural environments at J. Iverson Riddle and in the community. In addition, vocational education staff provide a choice of vocational opportunities across a continuum of services ranging from sheltered to supported community employment. Work opportunities on the J. Iverson Riddle campus include furniture making, weaving, candle making, organic gardening, seasonal crafts and service work such as housekeeping and dietary jobs. Community employment opportunities range from individual private, small business job placements to large-scale industry enclaves. |
