Reducing Risks

OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) has issued a set of rules, known as a standard, that is designed to reduce the potential of employees getting a bloodborne or other potentially infectious disease while on the job.  Employees are covered by the standard if they could be exposed to a bloodborne pathogen as a result of performing their job duties.

The standard is designed to protect you.  It details ways that you and your employer can work together to reduce the risk of getting a bloodborne disease.

The procedures that apply to your job will be discussed in the remainder of this training.
