Welcome to the Riddle Center!

The J. Iverson Riddle Center in Morganton, North Carolina is an ICF/MR-certified facility. We provide comprehensive residential care to citizens from 34 counties in the western portion of the state. To be eligible for admission to the Riddle Center a person must have a diagnosis of profound or severe mental retardation, or a related developmental disability. All admissions are subject to space available in the appropriate home. On August 1, 2006, Dr. Art Robarge was named Director of the J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center. Dr. Robarge has a long and distinguished career in both mental health and developmental disability services, including serving in the past at both the J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center, and the Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services in Raleigh.
